About

My Story

Scott Wallace is a dedicated and experienced State Representative, first elected in 2016 to serve the residents of Rockingham District 33 (now District 32 since redistricting in 2022), which includes the towns of Brentwood, Danville, and Fremont. Since taking office, Scott has been a staunch advocate for individual rights and public safety, making significant contributions to the legislative process in New Hampshire.

One of Scott’s early accomplishments was helping to pass the constitutional carry law in 2017, reinforcing the Second Amendment rights of New Hampshire citizens. He also played a pivotal role in expanding the state’s “Stand Your Ground” and “Castle Doctrine” laws, further solidifying the rights of law-abiding citizens to protect themselves and their property.

Scott also took a lead role in expanding the state’s wiretapping statute to include modern wireless devices like smart thermostats, doorbells, and home networks, ensuring the privacy of Granite Staters in the digital age.

With six years of service on the Criminal Justice and Public Safety (CJPS) Committee, including the last two as Clerk, Scott has been at the forefront of legislative efforts to enhance public safety. He has also served on the Legislative Administration Committee, clerked the Special Committee on Housing, and is currently the Vice Chair of the Judiciary Committee. His leadership earned him the position of Assistant Majority Leader for the 2021-22 biennium.

In addition to his state-level responsibilities, Scott has been deeply involved in Rockingham County governance. In his first year, he was nominated to the Rockingham County Executive Board and elected to Chair the County Jail Subcommittee. During this time, he played a pivotal role in the transition between long-serving Superintendent Steve Church and current Superintendent Jason Henry, ensuring the jail’s operations remained safe and effective, particularly through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Currently, Scott serves as Chairman of the Sheriff’s Office Subcommittee, where he works closely with Sheriff Massahos and Major Bashaw to ensure the Sheriff’s Office is well-resourced to protect and serve Rockingham County. Under his leadership, both the county jail and the Sheriff’s Office have become models for other facilities in New England, particularly in drug interdiction.

Scott’s fiscal responsibility is evident in his efforts to keep county budgets nearly flat over the past eight years, and his oversight on the Building Oversight Committee has ensured the $60 million building project remains on time and under budget.

Recognized for his consistent conservative values, Scott has received an A+ rating from the House Republican Alliance (HRA), an A rating from the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance (NHLA), and top ratings from the American Conservative Union (CPAC), AFP, NRA, and Cornerstone Action. He has also been a staunch advocate for congressional term limits, serving as a prime sponsor for this critical reform.

Scott’s commitment to public service extends beyond New Hampshire. In May 2023, he traveled to the southern border, spending a week with the Yuma County Sheriff and Border Patrol to witness firsthand the challenges at the border. This year, Scott will visit the northern border to meet with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and tour the Canaan, VT crossing alongside fellow legislators and law enforcement officers.

In 2024, Scott successfully championed the legalization of hobby distillation of spirits, adding to his record of legislative accomplishments. He also played a key role in establishing Education Freedom Accounts (EFAs) in 2021, empowering families with greater choice in their children’s education.

Scott Wallace is running for re-election to continue his work as a strong voice for his community and to ensure New Hampshire remains a place where individual freedoms and public safety are upheld.
